Description of Duties
Program facilitators are the main on-site liasons with groups visiting the Centre. Duties range from ‘concierge’ for the groups to delivering programs. Working with both the Centre Manager and Program Coordinator, Program Facilitators ensure that program objectives are met; pursuing high quality education quality, following risk management protocols and while having fun.
Programs include
High and low ropes courses, climbing/rappelling (on a tower), 12-person adventure boat tour, hiking, ocean kayaking, orienteering, forest and beach environmental education, team building programs, education games, arts/crafts, campfire programs and many more.
Employment Requirements, Skills or Assets
- Related degree/diploma or current student in one the the related programs
- Up-to-date first aid/CPR certification
- Extensive experience working with and leading children/youth programs
- Strong leadership, communication, flexibility, organization skills as well as a dependable team leader
- Considerable personal experience in our program areas a requirement, course work and certification an asset
- Fluency in French, ASL, or Japanese an asset
- A full-time student (for some specific grants) an asset but not an requirement
Wage
$64 to $96 per day depending on experience (plus accommodation and most meals)
Hours
split shift, including evenings and occasional weekends
